I spent yesterday at the National Archives, met my friend Barbara from the IHGS course and her friend Betty for a most enjoyable day. Chatting, catching up on news AND researching, what more can I ask.
I managed to obtain a photocopy of the will of John Greathead Kellett dated 1782, and ordered a copy of the will of Margaret Greathead 17 June 1726. This was on parchment so had to be scanned and is being sent to me in 10 days.
I also managed to spend some time looking at what the books on the shelves in the microfiche room contain. Shame I had to come home, but at least I managed to drive there and back without loosing my way once. So much easier than having to catch trains.
All I need to do now is see where they fit in! Anyone any ideas?
