I visited the Headquarters of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers this afternoon for an look in their library, talk to the archivists from Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and to listen to four lectures.

What a splendid afternoon. I came back with a copy of the obituary from their magazine of James Henry Greathead and I plan to arrange to go back and do some personal research very soon.
