Spent quite some time now attempting to sort out this branch of the Greathead family. Although it is believed the Mr and Mrs Greathead mentioned in the book "The Waterloo Ball" by Sir William Fraser (London 1897) attending the famous ball given by the Duke of Richmond on 15 June 1815 in Brussels are Edward and Mary Greathead. This emphasises one of the instances where the name changes. This Army family sent many of their children to Eton College.
I am still trying to identify Emma Greathed who married in 1876 in Doncaster and Eliza who died in 1846 in Clerkenwell and Mary who died in 1874 in Brackwall.
