Yesterday I spent the day at TNA with my fellow Cranleigh U3A members.
I was delighted to find a letter dated 3 March 1792 from John Eden requesting for mercy on behalf of Margaret Greathead a prisoner convicted at the March 1792 Durham Quarter Sessions and sentenced to transportation.
I also found letters and reports about grants of land to Craister Greathead in the Leeward Island in 1753-5
