Sarah Jane Greathead
Through Cyril, a contact found on the genes reunited website I now have a lot more up to date detail about Sarah and her husband John George Taylor and their family. With the information he kindly sent to me I started to investigate further and found the relevant census enumeration sheets. Sadly I still cannot locate John in 1871. I have found Sarah and the children and her widowed father. She is listed as married and head of the household but where was her husband John. He was a tailor and they were married back in 1862 so he was well past his apprenticeship. Maybe work took him further afield on the census night. Do you know where he was? Another intriguing query is on 1901 census with all their children flown the nest, John and Sarah suddenly appear with an adopted 18 year old daughter called Nora Benning. Is she a relatives child? Thanks Cyril for the information and for getting me to research your family
