This update includes lots of Pennsylvania and Manchester updated records. Charts 8 and 28 have also been updated.
Find my past included some new Lincolnshire parish records. I have added some Lincolnshire burials.
Following an email regarding Lauretta Greathead also known as Lauretta Groskop. A TV programme stated that Lauretta married Robert Groskop and was the grandmother of a previous Blue Peter presenter. I have proved the link, but it would seem that Lauretta maybe the niece of Robert. Maybe however she was adopted and on official records kept the name of Greathead. Anyone know anything different!!!!

Website updated October 2012
I visited
Chicksands
on 16 September and toured the house. Then onto All Saints, the
Parish
Church, Campton, nr Shefford, Bedfordshire
where
Edward Harris
Greathed
married
Charlotte Frederica Caroline
Osborn on 4 August 1869 to visit the Osborn graves, some
in the Churchyard and others in the crypt below the church
Still working on the Greathead books and hoping some kind gentleman will start the DNA ball rolling shortly.
Chart 28 now includes the family descended from Thomas W Greathead who married Frances Hux and travelled to America in 1819 and most of their family is documented on the website. Chart 10 has been absorbed into Chart 28
Many new dates and references updated

Australian electoral rolls
I spent an exhausting evening yesterday creating a spreadsheet of all the information relevant to me from the Australian electoral rolls. I found 11 entries for a family descended for Thomas Nepean Gray previously Thomas Greathead, 235 Greathead entries and 35 Greethead entries and hope to add this information in time for the next update due next week
I hope also to see whether I can locate others who maybe married and therefore changed their name and add them when time permits
Great fun finding information on people who lived so far away, and since no census information is available it is even more precious

Thomas Greathead

I received a parcel last week and am still attempting to add the amazing amount of information it contained. There was this fantastic picture of Thomas Greathead isn't he wonderful, just look at those whiskers!
He sailed off to Australia and renamed himself Thomas Napean Gray. He married and had nine children and seems to have been a very likeable chap. Jennifer who is his great grandaughter sent some certificates, wills, pedigrees, transcripts of parish registers and much, much more.
How does one go about thanking someone who is that generous? Words fail me, except to say a HUGE thank you.

Greathead - Whitelock families
Just received an Email from Jennifer whose great grandfather was Thomas Greathead who emigrated to Australia in 1869 and changed his name to Gray. That helps to solve the mystery of what happened to him, although I still can't find him on 1861 census. She also confirmed that his mother was Jane Whitelock the daughter of Matthew Whitelock and his first wife Elizabeth Hutchinson (I was unaware of this marriage)
She has just returned from a three month trip to Yorkshire following her descendants and has promised to forward much more information on these families who seem so closely linked. I can hardly wait. Many, many thanks Jennifer
