London Gazette entries
I discovered among other things while at the National Archives today a notice from the solicitors to the executors for John Thomas Greathead. Change of name for Joan Edith Greathead-Roberts to Joan Edith Greathead-King, and Ronald Greathead to Ronald Gray. Also an entry for my Dad with his regiment Two entries for C T Greathead a propietor for Messrs Greatheads, hosiers of Palmers Green who had a protection order for liabilities (War-time adjustment) act 1941 and its revocation three years later.
Greathead-Mongomery family

Following on with my interest in this family I have recently made contact with Diana and her daughter Mandy. They have now sent me a picture of Joan (Diana's Mum) and her sister Phyllis. I was aware that Joan died in Weymouth using the name Greathead-King. When I was at the National Archive today I discovered her change of name entry in the London Gazette 14 January 1944

Rudgewick Family History group
I am the organiser for the family History group for our local U3A group. A couple who attend regularly run the Rudgewick Family history group and asked if I would be prepared to give one of my talks to their group.
I went along last evening and had a very pleasant evening. They were an enthusiastic group, some very experienced and some just starting on their journey of research.
Thank you for inviting me and for a lovely evening and I wish you all well

Meeting Cousins
Over Easter I have discovered that I have been communicating with cousins Diana and Jennifer who are both related directly to the elusive Featherstone and his parents Robert and Elizabeth.
Having discovered the Montgomery link other things seem to fall into place. But I still do not know where Robert was definitely born. In 1841 census for Holborn, Middlesex it states that he was NOT born in that County. We know from 1851 and 1861 that Elizabeth was born in Cranborne, Dorset. How did she meet Robert?
Great to meet you girls I look very forward to bringing the family up to date.

Website updated 31 March 2007
I updated the website last evening. Brickwalls and charts have changed, pictures and a great deal new data and source confirmation have been added, but there is always room for more.
If you find any errors or if I have included narratives on "living" people in error please let me know. I try not to but, I am only human......
My grateful thanks to everyone who has helped me this month and in the past.
