Passenger lists on www.findmypast.com

I was excited to see that http://www.findmypast.com/ have now added entries up to 1929. SoI have added them all to a spreadsheet and am slowly going through them matching where I can and adding information to the narratives. This will hopefully add interest and detail to the relavant people. It is interesting to see that went on a round voyage and those that emigrated. Some even returned either to stay or re-emigrate.

Society of Genealogists

I visited the Society of Genealogists in London today meeting up with my pal Barbara and her friend Betty. It is always good to see them, sadly only once or twice a year. I managed to gather some information about who voted in Stockton District 2 elections and how they voted on Tuesday 17 November 1886. I also read another book written in 2005 by Dr David J Greathead shortly before his untimely death entitled "The Branch from the Hazel Tree" Sadly the experts there could not offer much assistance on where to look in my mystery about Sarah Greathead née Brown late Taylor

Website updated 30 June 2007

Despite being on holiday for the best part of three weeks I have updated the website on time. I have done some digging and found the death dates of some Greathead ladies who married out of the name and subsequently their birth dates. http://www.findmypast.co.uk/ is a great site to use for this exercise. Next month I hope to do more real research.........

Back from holiday

I have just returned from three weeks in France in a cottage originally built in 1695 where I have been unable to access my mail. May I apologise therefore for the delay in responding if you have tried to contact me.

As you may guess have a huge number to go through, the grass at home has grown so tall to make me consider buying a goat, and the washing basket is calling.

Please give me a couple of days and I will get back to you.

Website updated 31 May 2007

I have just completed an update on the website.

Amongst the updates are many on the family of Robert and Florence (née Greathead) Quinney from information and clues provided by Catherine and her uncle Gordon, any thanks to both.
